Obituary of Olga H. Saranotski

Olga H. Mikitich Saranotski, age 99, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late John S. Saranotski, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Bethel Healthcare with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, June 6, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen Sakovich Mikitich. Olga graduated from Danbury High School and was a part of her family's famous "Danbury Bakery." Later, with lovely art skills, she became a photographer for Genungs Dept. Store in Danbury. During World War II Olga also worked as a nurse's aide in Danbury Hospital. In 1956 Olga and John built a beautiful home in Trumbull, where John worked for Sikorsky and taught at Norwalk Tech. Olga was a founding member of the Nichols Garden Club and maintained beautiful vegetable gardens. Olga loved her church's senior group and experienced many fun times with them. Olga had one brother, Alexander who predeceased her. Survivors include her cherished daughter Nina Frankonis and her husband Richard of Newtown, three cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Chang and her husband Dr. Robert, Richard Frankonis Jr., and John Frankonis and his wife Wendy, four beautiful great grandchildren, Haley, Robbie, Greta and Jack, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. directly in the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, 1540 East Main St., Bridgeport with Fr. Steven Belonick presiding. Interment will follow in the Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
