Obituary of Susan C. Petruccelli

Susan Churman Petruccelli, age 96, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Maefair Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Remo Petruccelli. Born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Verona Morovasik Churman. Above all else, Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as devoted parishioner of Calvary Evangelical Free Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving children, Lucy Kopchick and her husband Stephen, Libby Floroski, Charles Petruccelli and his wife Maxine, Stephen Petruccelli and his wife Peggy and Remo Petruccelli and his wife Karen, a son-in-law, Michael Klein, her cherished grandchildren, David Kopchick and his wife Denise, Laura Kopchick Houdlette and her husband Jeff, Jason Klein and his wife Lori, Rachel Klein Beardsley and her husband Jeremy, Justin Klein and his wife Segan, Emily Petruccelli and her husband George Negron, Stephani Petruccelli and her husband Evan McClure, Bryce Petruccelli and his fiancée Mollie Reed, Corey Petruccelli and his wife Samantha, Taylor Petruccelli and his fiancée Lauren Giordano, Kelly O'Reilly and her husband Sean and Katy Micros and her husband Matt, adored great grandchildren, Meghan Kopchick, Andrew Kopchick, Catherine Kopchick, Simone Houdlette, Nathan Houdlette, Tyler Klein, Jack Beardsley, Claudia Beardsley, Michael Negron, Nicholas Negron, Jack O'Reilly and Jillian O'Reilly and three sisters, Madeline "Ruth" Brush, Libby Memoli and MaryAnne Nyborg. In addition to her beloved husband Remo, she was also predeceased by a daughter, Claudia Klein, a granddaughter, Mallory Petruccelli, a son-in-law, Thomas Floroski and her three brothers, Eddie, Mike and Andy Churman. The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Maefair Health Care Center, Athena Hospice of CT, Athena Health Care Systems and Wesley Heights, where Susan had lived for many years, for their care and compassion that had been extended to Susan and the entire family. There will be no calling hours. Friends are asked to go directly to Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. for services. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
