Obituary of Anna M. Lisi

Anna Mary Caldaroni Lisi of Trumbull, age 94, died in her sleep on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Daughter of the late Antonio and Dora Corso Caldaroni, she was born on January 20, 1921 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She retired from Metropolitan Life and also spent many years as a hairdresser. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Church in Bridgeport, and held leadership roles in the Holy Rosary Society and the St. Theresa's Guild. She was also a longtime member of the Mother Cabrini Council of the Columbiettes. Prayer and mass attendance was a consistent part of Anna's life, attending mass just about every day, and via EWTN when her health prevented attending in person. She also volunteered her time generously for many years and for several causes, and received the US Presidential Award for Volunteerism. She enjoyed lobster, celebrating family events, playing cards and bingo, and vacation cruises with her "man," Edward A. Lisi, who predeceased her. Together they shared a 63-year marriage. She leaves her devoted children: Ann and Michael Purr of Stone Mountain, Georgia and their children: Ann Marie and Michael Martin; Edward and Margherita Lisi of Orange, Connecticut and their children: Kate, Marc, Juliana, and her husband, Patrick Carter; Dominic and Robin Lisi of Trumbull, Connecticut and their children: Pamela and Diana, and her husband, Harry Shyket. She also leaves her 1-year old great grandson, Dylan Dominic Shyket, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters, including: Josephine Minaudo, Gussie, Dora, Mary, Frank (Sharkey), Thomas (Timmy), Nick (Gee), Joseph (Pepo), Salvatore, Giovanni, and Anthony (Toto) Caldaroni. Funeral services will take place Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 365 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Academy, 395 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606 for The Anna and Edward Lisi Scholarship.
