Obituary of Robert Scott DeGennaro

Robert Scott DeGennaro, age 26, of North Carolina and formerly of Milford, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Born in Bridgeport on March 10, 1989, he was the son of Dawn Berchem D'Andria and her husband Thomas of Derby and Scott DeGennaro of Vermont. He was a graduate of Shelton High School Class of 2008, and also Porter and Chester Institute, where he received a certificate in Automotive Mechanics. Bobby was a free spirited and talented person. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting and drawing and was an avid Marvel fan. He was currently employed at Target in North Carolina and proud to have worked at Giant Steps in Southport, in assisting children with autism. When he would enter a room, his infectious smile could light everything up, no matter the situation he would make you smile. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and nephew who loved his family whole heartedly. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and his love and memory will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, he will be deeply missed by everyone. In addition to his loving mother and father, Dawn and Tom and his birth father Scott, survivors include his devoted sister, Kayla DeGennaro of Derby, maternal grandparents, Raymond Sr. and BJ Berchem of Monroe, aunts and uncles, Amy Koch and her fiancé Tom Moleski of Guilford, Melissa Rodrigues and her husband Michael of Monroe, Sandra Berchem of Shelton and John D' Andria Jr., of Derby, cousins, Taylor and Jeremy Rodrigues, April Petrushonis and her husband Nick and Jason D'Andria, his best friend Josh Bugarchich, as well as many extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his uncle, Raymond Berchem Jr., and grandparents, John Sr. and Genevieve D'Andria. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, with Rev. Andrew Marus presiding. Interment will follow in the Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
