Obituary of Richard Renzo

Richard Renzo, age 85, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of Marie Miakos Renzo. Born in Lock Haven, PA on December 29, 1929, he was a son of the late Ernest Cozza of Bridgeport, CT. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. In 1968, Richard later co-owned, alongside his wife, Marie's Sandwich Shop in Trumbull Center where he was known for his "Famous" cinnamon doughnuts. He was an avid painter, child violinist and organist. After retirement, Richard worked as a school bus driver for First Student Bus Co. in the town of Trumbull well into his eighties and looked forward to it on a daily basis. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great father and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Marie, other survivors include his three devoted daughters, Paula Andrews and her husband John of Trumbull, Patricia Bria and her husband John of Milford and Rosemarie Foote and her husband Jeffrey of Woodbridge, a son-in-law, David Curry of Milford, fifteen cherished grandchildren, John and Ana Andrews, Joseph and Naomi Andrews, Layla and John Pellegrino, Paula and Orlando Valle, Nicole and Jeremy Carlberg, Frankie and Amanda Curry, Richard and Danielle Renzo, Kristin and Rickey Saez, Jessica and Rob Torchen, Marie Curry, Anthony Curry, Jonathan and Kate Bria, Barbara and Jamie Vogt, Jaclyn Bria and Joshua Foote. He is also survived by twenty one great grandchildren. In addition to his Father, he was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Curry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
