Obituary of William R. Balog

William R. Balog, age 76, the beloved husband of Vivien Sireno Balog of Trumbull, together for 42 years, married 33 years, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 after a long illness. Born in Blakely, Pa on November 15, 1938, a son of the late Michael and Rose Wolfe Balog, Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by his daughter, Andrea Kaminski Smith and husband Doug, his granddaughter and grandson, Shannon and Sam Smith, all of South Plainfield, N.J. Two brothers, Richard (Yogi) Balog of Monroe and Tom Balog of Trumbull, nieces, Lisa DeFelice and her husband Nick of Shelton, Denise and Lorissa Balog of Derby, a nephew, Paul Balog and wife Kate of Rocky Hill as well as several great nieces and one great nephew and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his best friend of many years, Richard Lanese of Milford. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Balog and a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chet and Phyllis Orlowski and his best friend, James Lally of Lancaster, N.Y. Vivien would like to thank the entire staff on the 3rf floor of St. Josephs Manor, especially his CNA, Micheline, for all of the great care he received. Their kindness, sympathy and understanding will always be remembered. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends and family may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
