Obituary of Theresa A. Vastola

Theresa A. Foley Vastola, age 86, beloved wife of John "Jack" Vastola of Shelton, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford with her loving family by her side. Born in Queens, NY on October 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Mary E. Whalen Foley and was a resident of Corona Queens, NY before coming to Connecticut. Theresa was the loving wife to Jack for over 65 years and devoted her life to caring for her family. In addition to her beloved husband Jack, survivors include her two loving sons, Gary Vastola and his wife Patricia of Oxford, Donald Vastola and his wife Irene of Rockville Centre, NY, six grandchildren, Dina Vastola and her fiancé Anthony Cali of Norwalk, Danielle Vastola of Bridgeport, Jacquelyn Bunovsky and her husband Keith of Monroe, John Corris and his wife Kimi of Ladera Ranch, CA, Michael and Joseph Vastola both of Rockville Centre, NY and five great grandchildren, Connor, Michael, Mason, Makena, and Carter as well as loyal caregiver and family friend, Ramon. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Viewing hours for relatives and friends will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
