Obituary of Virginia Bernardo

Virginia Borelli Bernardo, age 89, of Bridgeport passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Northbridge Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicola "Joe" G. Bernardo. Born in Bridgeport on February 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosa Quaranto Borelli. Virginia loved to sew and crochet, but her greatest passion in life was for the care of her husband and children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Linda Esposito and her husband Carl of Potsdam, NY and Karen Michaels and her husband Michael Prete of Versailles, KY, her six beloved grandchildren, Carl Esposito, Jr. of Naugatuck, Cathy Kudzma and her husband Eric of Wallingford, Christine Esposito of Hyde Park, NY, Leonard Esposito and his wife Annie of Potsdam, NY, Cody Michaels of Versailles, KY and Adley Michaels also of Versailles, KY, four great grandchildren, Gary Esposito, Ryan McRobbie, Brayden Kudzma and Katelyn Kudzma. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her son Michael Bernardo and daughter-in-law, Mary Schmitt Bernardo as well as seven sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
