Obituary of Patrick Bovienzo

Patrick "Pat" Bovienzo, age 82, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, a retired pharmacist, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in Bridgeport Hospital following a long illness. Born in Southport on September 15, 1922, he was a son of the late Anthony and Carmela DeFilippo Bovienzo.

A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Bovienzo was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, School of Pharmacy. He was the owner and pharmacist of the Black Rock Pharmacy in the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport. Pat was a longtime member of the Greater Bridgeport Pharmaceutical Association of Connecticut, the Black Rock Business Mens Association, UNICO, and a longtime parishioner of St. Ann's Parish. He had an impact on all who knew him and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and especially for his sense of humor. He was loved by all.

Our loss is Heavens gain, may he walk in peace forever. Eternal Rest, Pat.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Kafara Bovienzo, two sons, Robert Bovienzo and his wife, Ann Marie of Beacon Falls and Dr. James Bovienzo of Killingworth as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
