Irene Wildman Gorton, age 73, of Beacon Falls, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck. Born in Bridgeport on October 6, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie Poppa Wildman and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Irene was a private duty nurses' aide helping many patients for over 30 years. She loved to read and was fond of music but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. A loving and caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all.
Survivors include her three loving children, Edmund Cogan of Bridgeport, Michael Cogan of Torrington, and Beth Cogan and her husband James Barnes of Beacon Falls, seven cherished grandchildren, Christine, Jason, Edmund Jr., Samantha and Faith Cogan and Alana and Daniel Rivera, and her brother, Charles Wildman of Bridgeport as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, August and Anthony Wildman.
A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
