Claudette Pierelli Pires, age 60, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Fernando Pires, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on April 23, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Richard V. Sr., and Theresa D. Gallo Pierelli. A graduate of Central High School Class of 1975, Claudette was a receptionist for Pediatric Healthcare Associates with over 25 years of dedicated service.
She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She treasured the time spent with her family and the memories they created and the unconditional love she gave will always live on in their hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband of 35 years, Fernando, survivors include two cherished children, Nicole Pires-Vicenty and her husband Armando and Fernando (Champ) Pires Jr., and his girlfriend Gabrielle Stella, a sister Angela Pierelli-Licari, nieces Juliana and Abriela Licari all of Bridgeport, aunts, Teresa Costello and her husband Joseph of Stratford and Ann Hiltz and her husband Henry, dear friends Maria and Domingos Vaz and their son Daniel, and her grand-dog Bella. She also leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard V. Pierelli, Jr. and dear friend Luisa Vaz.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Yale New Haven Hospital for the professionalism, compassion and love shown to Claudette in her time of need.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m.
