James M. Grosso, age 86, beloved husband of Therese Montminy Grosso of Trumbull, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Benchmark at Split Rock of Shelton. Born in Bridgeport on February 21, 1931, he was a son of the late Michael and Margaret DiPronio Grosso and was a longtime resident of Trumbull. Before his retirement he was a dedicated school teacher for 34 years with the City of Bridgeport. He was a devoted, loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife Therese of 54 years, survivors include six loving children, John Grosso and his wife Laurie of Shelton, Elise Dumas and her husband Roger of Ansonia, James Grosso of Trumbull, Peter Grosso and his wife Adele of AZ, Therese Zalenski and her husband Ted of Monroe and Denise Richards and her husband Dave of MA, a brother, Ronald Grosso and his wife Mary of Stratford, a sister, Rosemary Obbagy of Waterbury, a daughter-in-law, Kendra Grosso of Monroe, 11 grandchildren, Eric and Megan Dumas, Nicolas Grosso, Jacob and Alyssa Grosso, Joshua and Ethan Grosso, Tyler and Therese Zalenski, Diana Grace and Davison Richards as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving son, Mark A. Grosso, and loving grandson, Alexandre Grosso as well as a brother, Michael Grosso.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
